Yeah, i've had it in Photoshop and it looks like there's a pattern of ghosting and pixelation around Dubya, and particularly the microphone on the left, that is not the same for the rest of the picture, which suggests two seperate digital renderings.

Also, if you look at the face (bottom left) and hat (bottom right), they are so large that, from the perspective of the camera, those people would have to be almost as close as the chimp, sat cross-legged on the platform or something. Plus: what is a crowd doing behind a podium, with no security in evidence?

Nah, it's a fake, but like pocketpunk punk says, "Who cares?"

"Well, the telling of jokes is an art of its own, and it always rises from some emotional threat. The best jokes are dangerous, and dangerous because they are in some way truthful."

edjog, you are quoting another one of my favorite writers!!!! an extraordinarily funny man, even when he's telling the tale of 135,000 people killed in the firebombing of Dresden...

Yeah s_m, he's very good. I've only read Slaughterhouse Five - the rest are on that list, you know, the never ending search for the fabled 'Round Tuit'.

You've got to let some humour shine through even the most stentorian rhetoric, i reckon. Not just for your audience, but to stop yourself taking yourself too seriously and thus going mental. Even if it's just trying to be amusingly inventive with abuse.

There's an intersting discussion on rhetoric here, which is also ironically amusing because it it does take itself a bit seriously. And a very funny look at it's devices here. They're both in the links column as well.

Actually, your link is broken, dunno why exactly, but there's a self closing 'br/' tag as part of the url in the page source. Did you hit return before closing the 'a' tag, or paste it from a list where there was a line break included in the 'copy'? This comments interface inserts extra characters onto the end of the url when it tries to execute the link. Why? Dunno mate.

I'll have another bash: Slaughterhouse 5 - that's got it. Yeah, like them, i'd recommend it. In fact i'm gonna read it again, it's been yonks and i can't remember it that well.

yup, probably a bad cut'n'paste from the tutorial, but i have finally memorized the syntax...it's a bit arcane with some of these URLs...

re-read if you like, but also (when you find that Round Tuit) check out Breakfast of Champions

some weird, funny stuff he wrote while apparently going through some psychotherapy...
